Home Mission
This section of Reformed Presbyterian mission exists to foster and encourage local outreach and church planting.
Local outreach is promoted through the work of the 'GO Committee', who organize GO Teams to assist with outreach in existing centers of witness. An Evangelism Conference is organized each year for training and encouragement. The Section provides financial assistance to local outreach efforts. An annual Day of Prayer for the ministers and elders of the denomination takes place where a variety of matters are brought before God. A number of resources have been produced to help develop the witness at home.
The work of church planting continues in Enniskillen, Letterkenny and Carrickfergus. Two presbyteries are seeking opportunities to plant churches, the Northern Presbytery in Antrim and the Eastern Presbytery in East Belfast. The most recent church plant to become established is Dromore in December 2007. Here are some things we look for when starting a church plant. The Section is responsible for the north of Ireland and mainland Britain. It is always keen to hear of situations where there may be an opportunity and need to church plant.
The Section offers anyone in the church the possibility of serving a congregation through Short Term Service.
